Christmas...is it over?

Christmas has come and gone and it passed us right by! We got an early present this year... the stomach bug! The chicks got sick two days before Christmas and Mamahenn got it Christmas nite. I do not remember feeling that bad since I was pregnant... but that goodness I am not! Husband got it the day after. I felt even worse that Husband's parents had come to stay with us and we were all sick. They were alot of help. I promised to make it up to them next time they come for a visit! Well- Christmas was a biggie this year! Santa brought Chickadude a garbage truck and Chickadoll a Diamond ring... a fat diamond ring...boys it will be tough to top out Santa! It was so fun to see their excitement this year as Christmas approached! Parker was really into Santa and all the magical components that comes with him...the sleigh, reindeers, coming down the chimney, eating cookies at our table!!! I surprised Husband with a new IPod!! He was really shocked and I was glad he did not have a clue! I got a video camera and a SLR camera!! I was so shocked- double time! I love the ability to video the chicks in their element! I have captured so many of the cute things they say and do. And my new SLR, well it just snaps and snaps away! I have made some great shots that my little digital camera just would not have done. We got tons of other stuff too, but that is the highlights! Hope that you all had great Christmas' and never caught the stomach bug!

T minus 15 minutes...

I am about to make it- blogging everyday this week! I have 15 minutes to complete this post and then it will be Thursday! I have had a busy day and kind of been in a bad mood. It is hot. It is raining. Its storming. I got up during the nite to check on the weather and lost an hour of sleep. I had lots of things to do to get ready for the ornament swap. I have had two sleepy babies today. We did not get a long nap. I have been gone several nites this week and missed being with Todd. He was off tonite. I sound like a Grinch. Well off to bed. What's that saying..."there is always tomorrow."
These pics make me smile... The kids a year ago! Look how much they have grown!

What a week and it is only Tuesday!!!

This has been a busy week and it is only Tuesday! I had a big dinner last nite and all went well. Us girls were still talking at midnight- so fun! And then today was MDO and me some free time to catch up on errands and shopping! My sister and I are having an ornament swap tomorrow nite and I am busy making food and getting things together for the get together!! I paused though to keep my promise to blog LOTS in December! Tonite after dinner the kids were out of control. I think that they needed to go run off some energy, so we took them to Chickfila by our house and let them play in the indoor play ground. I love Chickfila or so many reasons: extremely clean, indoor play area that is sound proof, nice people who take your order and tell you "my pleasure", and a new favorite... Peppermint chocolate chip milkshake! Yum Yum!! Then we headed home and read about all the animals in the Christmas story. And thanks to Mimi, we had a replica of each one! It was fun for the kids to pick out which animal we were talking about. Well back to the workload!

I am keeping up!!

It is actually working! I am keeping up and seem to be on top of things today!! It's amazing what you can do minus a husband and a child for two days!! No phone calls to return! No bills overdue and none that need to be paid- today! My house is clean. My Christmas decor is shining bright and all put up. I am fixing dinner! My Christmas cards are printed, but not addressed! I wrapped presents- yes I have finally started Christmas shopping! I am feeling better today about the chaos in my life. Now the real challenge: to stay ahead of the game all week! Tonite my plans are for Daddy to finish some honey-do's, read the Sunday paper by a fire, do the Christmas story sun catcher with the kids(a school project), and to enjoy family! Gosh- I really seem in the true spirit!! I'll let you know how it turns out! Oh and I did change my tree- Could not stand to see those green wires- Type A!! And Princess ran to be in the picture once again!!

Oh I missed a few!!!

Oops!! I have missed a few days of December!! Recap: short version!! On Wednesday nite I had my last clinical with Samford. I have loved my clinical group this year and they are all very special to me. Although I was extremely glad that it was over, I was sad that we will not be together any more. Thursday- the kids had Mothers Day Out and a pizza party, which they loved and came home with stains all over their Christmas clothes! Thank goodness for Shout! On Friday we HAD to go to the grocery! I mean there was nothing left to make any type of food creation out of. So off we go to WallyWorld! I hate to go shopping with them. There is no where for two kids and ALL the groceries to go in that cart. Do you let them walk or carry the food purchases in your arms so they can stay in the cart? And then how do you drive that cart with one hand? Oh it stresses me out just remembering the event! So that brings us to Saturday! Parker went to the farm to spend the nite last nite and I have had a opportunity to have some one on one time with Gigi. She is such a sweet girl and loves attention and with Parker around she just doesn't get her fair share! It has been great having time to myself with her! We went to a baby shower together this morning. While we were getting dressed she asked me where we were going. I responded," to a baby shower." She looked up at me as I was putting her socks and shoes on and replied just as serious as she knew how,"why is the baby going to take a bath?!!" She is such a delight and I am so blessed to have this time with her. We called to check on Parker to see if after the shower we should go and get him and he informed me that he is now Pap's son and is going to live with Pap and Mum! He said that his name is Parker Wise and Pap is Buddy Wise, "so it is true I am his son"!! What he failed to read was the small print and see Henningsen at the end of his name and the fact that he will be coming home! He is staying tonite, because he did NOT want to come home. Oh well- hope he feels different tomorrow!! All is asleep in this household but me- I am off to bed!!

December Second!!

I am making my promise all though it is hard to keep it with all the other commitments I have made to myself and others too!!! But I am determined to keep this blogging thing up! So what happened this second day of December? Well... Gigi informed us that she wants (and yes I quote because it came straight from her mouth)"Diamonds"! Need I say more? Except who taught her that? And Parker wants a "garbage truck with a garbage can and garbage man!!" So I have been on a mad hunt for the garbage truck. I gave up on diamonds- maybe next year Gigi! So we have made our lists... and I am checking them twice...and I am off to try and make their wishes come true!!

December!!!

Today is the first of December and I am so excited about this time of year, yet stressed that the Big day is only 24 days away! Like i mentioned in another post, every year I promise myself to start shopping for Christmas early and to be finished by Thanksgiving. I do not know why I cannot accomplish this. Each year I say- Okay next year!
We'll I am going to try really hard to post each day of December. My sweet Grandmother in CA needs to read some new posts! So this is an early new years resolution!! Nothing like making blogging a priority!
Last nite we put up our tree! Now we have just gotten in from traveling for Thanksgiving and all the luggage and stuff has not been put away. But I could not resist the temptation to leave it all there and put up the tree! I was set on getting a white tree this year and not a prelit tree. I had a beautiful green prelit tree for the past 5 years but last year a strand of the lights went out. Once that happens on a prelit tree it is no longer any good. So I went out looking for a non prelit tree. They are hard to find might I add. But luckily Walmart saved the day!! I have been dreaming of how this tree would look with all my red and lime green ornaments. My theme this year stripes, red, lime green, and Presents!!! I have this image in my mind about how all this would look. I guess you know where I am going with this- It does not look like the dreams I had! The wire on the lights is green and it looks terrible on a white tree. My ornaments really do pop though against the white! I am torn. Take it down and get a green tree(or a "real(not meaning live)" Christmas tree as Todd says)((I mean can a White tree not be a real Christmas tree)), hunt for white lights with white wire, or not have a tree(this idea came after Gigi has broken several of my ornaments already)! I am going to post the tree- you know a picture is worth a thousand words!! Let me know what you think!
