Parker

We are in the process of running some tests on Parker. He has been having symptoms of high sugar and we are not sure yet the diagnosis. He is peeing all the time, drinking us dry, and having some issues with blood sugars and ketones. Please say a little prayer for him and mommy. I just feel so for the little(actually big 53 pounds!) guy- he has already been through so much.

And here is a picture of G! Just as sassy as ever!

Gigi brings all the boys to the yard!!

Yes- It has occurred today. We arrived home from Mom's Day Out to find the firetruck down the street working on hydrants. Our little fireman, Parker, insisted that we sit out front and wait on them to come by. It was a nice day and on the front porch we waited, and waited and waited... and the finally here they came!! The kids were so excited. Parker was jumping, Gigi was waving! And they stopped and turned the lights on and Parker told them about all the fires he had fought! They were totally taken with the firemen. As they drove off, Parker wanted the siren. They opted for the air horn which caused Gigi to jump up off the ground, cover her ears and let out a BIG scream. The fireman (I thought) had gone on.
We came in and got ready for our nap. Great weather for open windows, so the windows have been open for about two days. As we were about to fall asleep, Parker jumps up runs out the bedroom door and heads for the back door, explaining to me that he heard the fireman. That diesel truck mommy through the window! I thought- oh dear boy, I know you love them but they have important things to do today... that's them?!! Yes, he was right. The fireman were circling in our cul-de-sac. I tried to urge him back to nap land, but them he said mommy they are at the door! ( oh and I had on no pants!!) So, mommy put on some pants and headed for the door. And sure enough 4 fireman were standing on the front porch. They had a teddy bear and asked if they could speak to the little girl that they scared. My mouth fell open. I told them - I was not sure she would come out... she had just finished telling me that she did not like firemans! So they came in and got her and gave her the bear, told her they were sorry they scared her and asked her to come to the station. Parker is just staring at them... Guys do you not see me... I am the fireman... you do not want her she is high maintenance, but I fight fires... I have a fire suit, boots, a helmet?! He looked so disappointed that they had come to see Gigi! He said in a soft voice... Do I get a bear? They went to the truck and got him a bear and he was so excited. He told them all about his fire suit and even told them it was in the washer because "I tee teed in it!!" So- Wow! I just do not know what to finish up with? They loved little Gigi. I just do not understand how she manages it-four grown men, firemen, on my porch begging for Gigi's forgiveness. And Parker, he keeps asking when he can got o work that the firemen forgot to take him back to the station!

I am back!!

Okay, the absence of writing has not been from the head injury that I left yall hanging with! It has been this:

We are loving the weather and opportunity to spend most of our day outside! I then stay up late at nite to finish all the things that I should have done during the day!
So- As I always promise... I will try to keep this thing up to date! Happy Spring!

Soccer is not my game!

So today we went to see Todd at work at some hispanic soccer event. It was such a beautiful day and so nice to get out after being cooped up all week with Parker. We sat down on the bleachers and got to talking with some of Todd's coworkers and their families. I had totally forgotten that we were at a soccer game and was just enjoying my day, when... some mexican soccer dude kicked the ball from across the field and hit me head on. Nothing stopped the ball but me. Straight from his foot to my head. Get the point. It hurt like @*#!. At first I was stunned and was not sure what happened. Then I just wanted to cry. Then I was so embarressed and wanted to go home. It was been a bad day. Please forgive the spelling, I am not right in the head!!!

Life was good today!

Life was much better today! I think that I am getting the pattern down of when Parker feels his worse and am able to dose him and get him over the worst. They tell us that Day 7-10 is the part that is the most painful. Please pray for Parker and me! Parker that he will not experience pain and that I will stay patient and comforting to Parker. My patience are running thin, as are the hours of sleep and my frustrations are high along with the "to-do"list. It is amazing that your house and all responsibilities can get so far behind in less than a week. I need a clone to pick up where I left off about Thursday!
Anyways- Parker's school valentines are due tomorrow. They make you turn them in to "approve" them. I was wondering what to do. Money is tight. Store bought valentines are so over rated. So I got online and found a very cute idea...
Heart shaped Play-dough: Homemade!

And then here are some pictures of the kids!
And here is Gigi... being her cute silly self!!

Parker: This was his response when I asked him to smile!

Day 5

Today has been a better day- only two really bad moments. This morning(early) Parker was hurting and having a hard time and then once more this afternoon after a long nap. He did eat alittle mac and cheese for dinner! This was a big step. He is so brave and I am so proud of him for hanging in here and being a trooper. He listens patiently to me explain things to him about dressing changes, trusts me not to hurt him, questions me about when he will feel better and trusts me that it will get better. I just love this little man!]
And Gigi... well we have decided that she is going to be the family clown. She is just soooo funny. She was a "hair fix-her" tonite and was such a little priss. I found her a pretend blow dryer yesterday at my Favorite Store! and she is obsessed with doing your hair! At least she is providing great entertainment!
Hopefully we will continue to report improved progress!

72 hours

It has been 72 hours and the uphill climb suddenly went to rock bottom. The doctor had warned us that 72 hours would be the hardest. It certainly has been a harder day. We had to remove the bandages and it about broke my heart to hear Parker scream. He has just fallen asleep, and hopefully can get some rest. Yesterday we slept a large part of the day and today he was so uncomfortable that he did not sleep much. Please pray for a restful nite, both for Parker and me! And I want to thank my Mom for all of her help. I could not have done it without her and I am sad she will be leaving tomorrow. I do not know how it will be with Parker and Gigi being back at home with me. Parker requires so much of my attention being sick and Gigi just requires alot of attention period!. I was going to post a picture of him today, but not good either. I do not want him to see himself weak and sick. So maybe tomorrow! Thanks again for all the prayers, calls, texts, and encouragement we have gotten. We feel so loved!
