My heart is heavy....

My heart is heavy and hurts. This week our city laid to rest the first officer killed in the line of duty. Pelham Officer Philip Davis was killed by gunfire after a traffic violation turned into a fight for his life. It has hit so close to home and caused some of my worst fears to surface. I cannot imagine what this wife is experencing right now. Her children so young they may not remember their father. Parents whom have buried their son in their lifetime. A police department who has lost a brother. It has been an emotional week and a week that has caused me to look at my life and to cherish the moments that I have with Todd. They may be short moments in the early morning when he leaves for work, calls during the day, or times when he has gotton in late and I am asleep but I know that he is home and worry can end. In all of them I know he is okay and he is safe. I trust God to protect him. I know that God will protect him. I know that God's protection may not be the outcome I want someday, but I trust. However- With all that trust that you can place in your faith, the ache in your heart is deep and painful. Please thank the policemen that you see for their commitment to their jobs even if it means their life. They work in a position where their lives are on the line everyday just for you as a citizen in that city. They dont get paid for the bravery. They dont really want the credit. But it means alot to know that people care. The world is becoming a violent place where you cant be sure of anyone. I ask that God's protection and angles surround the men and women who serve and protect and at the end of the day He will take them home to the people who do care and love them so much.

The sick and injured!

We have been sick since Saturday nite and just cannot seem to break the fever or sniffles! Gigi was the better of the two and seemed to be getting better... no fever yesterday but still the runny nose and congestion. She had a dentist appointment and I hated to cancel..again! So we went and she had ZERO cavities and her teeth look so pearly white!! That is until she took a nose dive out of the back seat of the car and onto the pavement! She busted p her nose, face and lip and tooth! If you thought that you heard a chilling scream last nite it was probably Gigi from Alabama. That girl has a set of lungs! When we got her inside to JenJen's we noticed that the tooth went from in to out and then a call to the dentist and it was back in! And then this morning it is in but very loose. Hopefully it will "tighten up" and not change colors! So here are our pics from this am!

It is raining and pouring....

It is truly raining and pouring outside! I should have opted for cuter raincoats and rain boots and less cute clothes for the kids because we are in our "rain gear" more that anything else!
Also- My car broke again yesterday. We think that it is the same thing that happened in June. Remember... I was without a car for a month! I had just deposited a check into the savings accout and thought thank you Father that that check will help us if things get tough. Note: I am a bit of a financial worrier! And then the next day- BAM my car broke! Todd is leaving to go back out of town on Sunday! I cant drive his police car nor his truck. I'll be here for a long time! When it rains it pours!
On a better note!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Well- Parker's class had a field trip to Old Baker Farm to the Pumpkin Patch last Wednesday! It had been raining and is still raining! We put on our mud jeans and mud boots and headed out! I enjoyed meeting his class and spending time with Parker in his element! Thanks to Pap he loves Farms!! You can just tell how excited he was in these pics!

Picking cotton!!!

Parker put the cotton in his pocket to save and show Pap! However, I washed his muddy jeans and had cotton all over my clean clothes!

The farm had this cool trough to wash your hands in! Water"rained" down from above and it was the coolest! Pap you need one of these!

And then there was lunch in the barn!! Yummy!

Hay Bale Maze!!! Parker had so much fun running and figuring out how to get to the end!

Climbing and coming down the Hay Hill!

Christams tree but it is not Christmas!

I know that I have lost my mind... but what is new!!! I have created a Halloween tree! I just had so many little Halloween creatures and decor and decided that it would look bast grouped together on a tree! I was inspired by a fall tree at Hobby Lobby but opted for the black and orange effect! I think it turned out quite cute, if I might say so! The kids love, so I am sold on it!

INTRODUCING.....

Todd and Mel... the younger and smaller version!! Yes... they are playing Todd and Mel these days and impersonating us perfectly!! It is so fun to see them play ans play so well together!! They make us laugh so hard as they are watching our every move and soaking it all in.
Also introducing our baby in this picture! This is Ford( um wonder where that came from?!) and it he has become literally our third child!! Gigi is such a good mom to her baby but it is the realistic approach she has with the baby that is wearing me out. We have to be quiet when the baby is napping, bath the baby when it is bath time and now it sits at the table with us when we eat! Wow!
And introducing... cooler weather and the need for comfy warm and snuggley PJ's!!! Thanks Mimi!! I think that they would probably wear them even if it were not colder outside!!
Happy Fall!!!

First Day of FALL!!!

Wow! Where did the summer go? By way too fast! I had every intention of capturing our summer and now in the blink of an eye it is over, and life is busier than ever. I am working four nites a week and stay very consumed with the tasks that go along with work. I am overwhelmed with the duties of being a Mom, Wife, Daughter, Sister and Friend at the moment. Balance is something I am learning during all of this. The kids are in school. Parker is going 3 days a week and Gigi 2 days a week. I try to tend to the "maid and housekeeping" duties while they are at school! I do my best... that is all I can say! We are so excited that Fall is here! We wish that the rain would go away, the sun would come out, that cooler weather would roll in and the windows could go open! Soon... oh so very soon! So I am going to do better with updating... I know I always say it and never do. Oh well- aren't intention good for anything?

Here are some Pictures of the kids on their frist day at school!
